How to install/update official Marshmallow 6.0.1 on samsung J700F smartphone, step by step guide

Hi, friends as we know that google has released the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for samsung j700F, you can update your smartphone via OTA(over the air) or via kies 3, but if your phone is rooted or you was using any custom rom in your phone so then it is not possible to update firmware via OTA or Kies.

today we will show you how to update official marshmallow rom manually.

for this procedure we will need the following Softwares/drivers to be installed in PC.
all of these softwares/drivers are necessary because without these this process cannot be done.
all the things which will require are listed below with links.

1. (Odin 3.09) please download it through this link and then get your download by clicking the marked area as shown in above pic

2. (Latest Samsung J700F Marshmallow Firmware) please download it through this link and then get your download by clicking the marked area as shown in above pic

3.(samsung usb drivers for smartphone) please download it through this link  and then get your download by clicking the marked area as shown in above pic

Now, lets start our process step by step

first of all before starting the process make sure that you have installed all the above softwares/drivers in your PC successfully.

Step 1. first of all for a clean and fresh install its better to data factory reset your device (if you don't want to data factory reset, it's ok no problem
if you are going to do data factory reset then follow this step up to end otherwise you can skip and move on to next step

for data factory reset go through ( settings >>> Backup and reset >>> Factory data reset)

Step 2. after successful reset your device will restart and when all the process finished, turn off the device, make sure that the device is turned off fully
now press the power+home+volume down button at the same time the device will start in download mode as shown in above pic

Step 3. now connect your phone to PC through USB cable

Step 4. extract the Odin 3.09 files and run odin 3.09 as an administration

you will see the picture like this
if as in pic the marked field is showing that your device has been added in COM 1,2,3.... so the process is going right but if your device is not connected and Odin is not showing any connection to your device then you have to reinstall samsung usb drivers or you have to change the data cable or need to change the usb slot in your PC for inserting data cable

and if it still didn't work then go through your device settings and select developer mode and "Enable USB Debugging" also make sure that if you have samsung Kies installed in your PC make sure to turn kies off because Odin didn't work with if Kies is running.

Step 5. now go to your Marshmallow firmware file which you have downloaded, extract that file, it will result in a single extracted file of named xxxxxxxx.tar.md5 (xx represent any name or value before .tar.md5)
.tar.md5 file look like this

Step 6. now go to Odin window and click/select AP, and select the previously extracted .tar.md5 file, after selecting the file Odin may Show you not responding or it will hang for sometime, don't worry no need to be panic, just wait for Odin to Respond back.

Note: please don't mess with other options of the Odin otherwise it will result in brick your device, do your task as explained please don't try to change the settings in options tab in the Odin.
as shown in pic select the .tar.md5 file through AP in Odin

Step 7. now just click the start button in odin, here is that your process started, odin is flashing the new firmware to your device.

while downloading it will show a status bar in odin at COM port panel the green bar will show you the progress and your device will also show you the progress with green bar
the progress bar on device when odin start

when the process will complete successfully the Odin will display the msg like (1 success/ 0 fail)
and the COM PORT tab in Odin will show you the msg PASS.

so that's it, after completion of the process your phone will reboot in Marshmallow 6.0.1 and will take little more time by first boot so don't be panic.

enjoy.
